Sorry I haven’t been around much!! I’ve missed this site, things have just been hectic. But I do have some news, so hopefully that makes up for my absence ;)
New York–Fine-art auctioneers Bonhams and Butterfields will host a “Stars For A Cause” charity auction featuring a collection of red-carpet jewelry and fashion accessories from a who’s-who list of Hollywood celebrities.
The auction will benefit various charities, including The Prince’s Trust, a nonprofit founded by Prince Charles that provides practical and financial support to struggling youth in the United Kingdom.
Hollywood’s awards season nominees and presenters make up the participants of this year’s event, and they were asked to showcase their creativity by designing their own jewelry to wear on the red carpet, pieces that would later be offered at the auction.
According to Bonhams, celebrities who have signed or designed items include Amy Adams, Danny Boyle and the cast of Slumdog Millionaire, Steve Carell, Kelly Clarkson, Colin Farrell, Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, The Jonas Brothers, Keira Knightley, Hugh Laurie, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Brad Pitt, Mickey Rourke, Steven Spielberg, Tom Wilkinson, Kate Winslet and Reese Witherspoon, among others.
Jewelry designer Robyn Rhodes worked with the celebrities and oversaw the manufacturing of the one-of-a-kind pieces.
The article says that viewings of the pieces will be in New York, London, and Los Angeles before May 28. On May 28 there will be a live auction, which I believe is in L.A. To find out more about it, read the whole article here.
