BAFTAs: Helena Bonham Carter wins
Posted by Lisa • 2 Comments »

The BAFTA award for best actress in a supporting role was just announced with the win going to Helena Bonham Carter for her role in The King’s Speech. I was really hoping Amy would win this one since she wasn’t competing against Melissa Leo but a big congratulations to Helena all the same.

That really sucks! Of course, it is a Brit awards so definitely a brit will win. But anyway, it was really very nice of Amy to show up and she really looks so pretty in Peach with beads on it. Love it. She always look good at BAFTA awards.

No surprise there. This is Helena Bonham Carter’s 4th BAFTA nomination (only won now), she’s a Brit, and she’s in a film that’s been sweeping awards lately. I don’t mind seeing her get the award, even if she didn’t give the best supporting performance this year (IMO).

I’m surprised even Christian Bale lost to Geoffrey Rush. That’s a lot of love for The King’s Speech!

Nice to see Amy attend the BAFTA, though, even if she wasn’t expected to win. She looked lovely.
