Columbia Pictures has moved up its comedy/drama, Great Hope Springs to August 10th, four months earlier than originally planned.

The film, from director David Frankel, stars Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell features a script by Vanessa Taylor.

Many years of marriage have left Maeve (Streep) wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a famed relationship guru (Carell) in the town of Great Hope Springs, she must persuade her skeptical husband (Jones) to get on a plane for an intense week of marriage and sex therapy. Getting there was hard enough… now shedding their bedroom hang ups, learning some new moves and rediscovering their youthful spark is when the real adventure begins.

Warner Bros., meanwhile, has set their Trouble with the Curve for September 28th. Starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Matthew Lillard, the Robert Lorenz film arrives from screenwriter Randy Brown and marks Eastwood’s first acting project since 2008′s Gran Torino. He’ll star as a baseball scout who is losing his vision with his age. He and his daughter (Adams) take a final road trip to Atlanta to check out a prospective talent.

Amy Adams and Matthew Lillard Join Clint Eastwood in “Trouble With The Curve”

Gran Torino was supposed to have been Clint Eastwood’s swansong, as an actor. However, in the latter months of 2011, news got out that the 81-year-old Hollywood icon would work in front of the camera one more time on Trouble with the Curve, the directorial debut of his frequent assistant director/producer, Robert Lorenz.

Sandra Bullock was briefly raised as a possibility to portray Eastwood’s daughter in the film, but a scheduling conflict reportedly forced the Oscar-winning actress to withdraw. Word got out shortly thereafter that another acclaimed starlet, namely Amy Adams, could be taking Bullock’s place; now, it seems that casting move is essentially set in stone.

Another Possible Upcoming Role

With New Line Cinema set on The Mothman Prophecies and Arlington Road director Mark Pellington to get begind the camera for The Orphanage, the Guillermo del Toro produced remake of the Spanish-language ghost tale El Orfanato, the studio is now looking for their leading lady.

Bloody Disgusting has it on good authority that New Line has had talks with Amy Adams to star as “Laura”, a woman who takes over the orphanage where she was raised, to open a home for disabled children. Then her young son begins to play with the same imaginary friend who terrorized her when she was a child. Adams is a 3-times Academy Award nominee having starred in Enchanted, Doubt and The Fighter. She will soon be seen in Man of Steel and The Muppets Movie. To be clear, talks have taken place, but that does NOT mean she is signed to star.

Amy in Talks to Join ‘Les Miserables’?

Categories: Role Rumors

Keep in mind that no official casting announcements have been made and even if Amy is being offered a role, it doesn’t mean that she will want it or have time in her schedule to take it. But if she does get the role, how exciting! I would love to see her in a film like this.

Deadline.com reports this morning that filming for Woverine 2, the sequel to the successful X Men franchise starring Hugh Jackman, may be pushed back to the spring of 2012 due to location scouting issues. The film had been tentatively scheduled to film in Japan this fall, however weather conditions have made securing locations difficult. The operation may now move to Canada instead.

This means that Jackman will shoot the Les Miserables film, in which he’ll be playing Jean Valjean, first, beginning in February of 2012. The film will be shot in the UK.

According to www.itsonthegrid.com, additional actors being courted for the film include Russell Crowe for Javert, Geoffrey Rush for Thenardier, Helena Bonaham Carter for Madame Thenardier, Hayden Panettiere, Miranda Cosgrove, Lucy Hale, and Emma Watson for the roles of Eponine and Cosette, and Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall for Fantine.

Jackman has previously revealed that the new film interpretation will have songs in addition to dialogue to accommodate the medium.

I’m not sure if they needed to reshoot some scenes or just weren’t quite done yet but apparently, Amy was spotted (and photographed) last night filming a scene from The Muppets in Hollywood. The photos are small and not very clear so I won’t be posting them to the gallery. You can view them at their source here.

‘The Muppets’ Going to Big Screen

Categories: 'The Muppets', News & Announcements

In its inaugural year, this exciting film extravaganza, which hopes to become the Glastonbury of film, will be opened by Indiana Jones and James Bond and closed by Dr Who; or at least the actors who play them! Jon Favreau’s blending of science fiction and the old West Cowboys & Aliens will kick start the event with stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford to attend for the world premiere, while the remake of classic 80’s horror Fright Night 3D, starring Colin Farrell and David Tennant, has been picked as the movie to close the event.

And these are just a few of the stars to attend the 3 day event taking place on the weekend of the 12th of August at the O2, which is quickly becoming as synonymous with film as it is with music, having hosted last year’s Chronicles of Narnia and more recently the Justin Bieber Never Say Never documentary premieres.

And while stars Amy Adams and Jason Segel are not confirmed, Kermit, Piggy and all the Muppet stars of their latest outing due out this summer, have all signed on the dotted line and were quoted as being “very excited about visiting the O2 for the first time” to promote The Muppets!
