My apologies for being so late with these. I usually like to try and get the screencaptures up as soon as have access to the movie but this time it just didn’t happen. Anyway, I am finally adding high definition screencaptures of Amy’s latest movie Leap Year to the gallery. Screencaptures of the menus and special features are coming soon. While not my favorite role of hers, she looks gorgeous as always and the scenery of Ireland is just beautiful. On a side note, this update now brings the Enchanting Amy gallery to well over 50,000 images!

Finding the fresh response in obvious situations has become a specialty for Adams. She broke through with Junebug (2005) as a never-say-die beauty with a a baby on the way and a brooding high-school sweetheart for a husband. But Adams had already been breaking hearts and igniting laughs simultaneously for half a decade, starting with the 1999 beauty-pageant parody Drop Dead Gorgeous. (She plays the contestant who says, “They’re never going to let you perform naked — I asked!”) And her bloom hasn’t wilted under her recent klieg-lit stardom.

The key line for me is that “I realize I had everything I wanted, but nothing I really needed.” That’s one of the lines that attracted me to the role. I’ve definitely been at that point in my life.

The last place Amy Adams expected to run into the paparazzi was Target.

The aggressive photographers usually stalk celebrities outside trendy shops on Melrose Avenue and Rodeo Drive.

So, imagine the redhead’s surprise when a paparazzo poked his head through a rack of children’s clothes at a Los Angeles-area Target, and snapped a few candid shots of the actress as she shopped at what she describes as her “favorite store.”

Such is the life of one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses, whose new romantic comedy “Leap Year” opens Friday.

The two-time Oscar-nominated actress (“Junebug” and “Doubt”) plays a driven career woman who is frustrated by the reluctance of her boyfriend to pop the question after four years. When he travels to Ireland on a business trip, she decides to take advantage of a little-known Irish custom that encourages women to pop their own questions during a leap year. While in Ireland, she meets a handsome local, and a romantic triangle ensues.

By the way, the reason Adams, 35, was being pursued by the paparazzi in the children’s clothes section was a rumor circulating around town that she was pregnant with her first child. During this interview at a Beverly Hills hotel, the actress was anxious to set the record straight.

She also comes clean on Internet rumors that she once worked at Hooters, and why she continually confounds Hollywood logic by jumping from starring roles to supporting roles and back again.

Q. The Internet is buzzing with news of your pregnancy. Are congratulations in order?

A. Yes, thank you.

Q. Is it scary?

A. To be pregnant?

Q. No, to have the Internet buzzing about your personal business?

A. It’s a challenge at times that such personal information is now considered public domain. I try to embrace it as much as possible.

Q. Good luck with that.

A. I know. It’s really hard sometimes with something like this. It was so nice when it was just mine and my fiancé (actor Darren Legallo). But it’s not one of those things that can remain secret forever.

Q. Excuse me for prying, but how does news like that leak out?

A. I really don’t know. I guess one person finds out, and then someone else finds out, and then someone else finds out.

Q. But I don’t understand how they find out. For instance, how do they always know when celebrities are landing at the airport?

A. All I’ll say on that subject is that when I drive myself to the airport, and park my own car, the paparazzi are never there waiting for me on the other end. That’s all I’ll say about that.

Q. Hmmm … interesting.

A. What I’d like to know is who tips the paparazzi that I’m at Target. How do they know when I’m shopping for toilet paper? Fred Segal’s is one thing but at Target? I was really heartbroken when that happened. Shopping at Target is one of the few remaining normal things I do. I love Target.

Q. I thought they weren’t allowed inside the store?

A. I don’t think they are but they snuck in. They jumped out of the children’s clothes section when my shopping cart was full of paper products.

Q. How embarrassing.

A. Well, it doesn’t bother me. I’d like to meet one person who doesn’t shop for toilet paper.

Q. Did you get a sense that he knew he had done something unethical?

A. He ran out of the store so he must have known he wasn’t supposed to be there.

Q. The Internet gossip sites also say you once worked at Hooters?

A. That’s true.

Q. But you supposedly never wore the uniform?

A. No, I wore it.

Q. Really?

A. Look at your face light up. I think I’ve got a stalker on the couch next to me.

Q. No, I’m seeking truth.

A. The truth is that I worked at Hooters in Denver when I was about 17, but I looked real young so it probably didn’t look appropriate.

Q. How big a price is this Internet gossip to pay for your success?

A. I think it’s a big price, but I think it’s hard for people outside the industry to understand how bad it is. When I first moved to L.A. 11 years ago, it wasn’t like this. I did not pursue acting to become famous. I did not pursue this to be celebrated in any way. I really just loved the craft.

Q. Has your home ever been violated?

A. A photographer climbed a fence once and took pictures of me and my mom having a barbecue. That was awful.

Q. On a positive note, congratulations on being so big that photographers are violating your privacy at home.

A. That’s the thing. I don’t think of myself that way. I’m hardly a regular on the gossip page. I work really hard to maintain a certain level of privacy in my life and integrity in my work.

Q. And it’s not like you’re on “The Hills”?

A. I wouldn’t fit in at all on that show. They’d be talking, and I’d be saying “Are you girls even speaking English?”

Q. Let’s talk about your new movie, which takes place in Ireland. I must say that you are the most Irish-looking person I’ve ever seen on the big screen. Did you feel comfortable working there?

A. (laughs). I must say that I felt at home. I was born in Italy (she was a military brat), but I don’t know whether I have any Irish in me. I feel Irish.

Q. You play a woman who’s been in a relationship for four years. I wonder if that struck a chord with you since you and Darren have been in a relationship for seven years with no wedding in sight?

A. We’ve been together for 7 ½ years, and he proposed after six.

Q. Why did you wait so long?

A. Why did I wait so long? You’re asking the wrong person.

Q. Oh, excuse me. I didn’t mean to touch a nerve.

A. No, I always said that he wasn’t ready, and I wasn’t in a hurry. But I always knew he was the right person and, to be fair, I was always working.

Q. So, you weren’t feeling as if it was dragging on a long time?

A. Not at the time. But I didn’t realize how much difference being engaged would make in the relationship. It’s been wonderful.

Q. Although I thought your part of the movie “Julie & Julia” was a romantic comedy, you have never been a romantic comedy actress. Why were you attracted to the genre?

A. It was the script and the nature of the character I suppose. Part of it was Declan (the Irish love interest played by British actor Matthew Goode). I hadn’t seen a male in a romantic comedy who was that male in a really long time. Do you know what I’m saying?

Q. You’re not cutting on Hugh Grant, are you?

A. Not at all. I’m talking about the character, not the actor. Declan is very old-fashioned in that he is the strong, quiet type, and my character is the powerful, challenging woman. Bringing them together and watching them ignite was interesting to me. It felt very old fashioned, which was a good thing.

Q. Were you concerned at all that it may be perceived as a woman needing a man to be complete?

A. What I liked about this story was that she thought she needed a man to be complete, but she realizes that what she needs to complete her is not a man but a completely different way of living. It’s not about just getting the man. The key line for me is that “I realize I had everything I wanted, but nothing I really needed.” That’s one of the lines that attracted me to the role. I’ve definitely been at that point in my life.

Q. You are clearly the lead of this movie, you were the lead in “Enchanted” and the co-lead with Emily Blunt in “Sunshine Cleaning.” Yet, you continue to do supporting roles in “Doubt,” “Charlie Wilson’s War” and the “Night at the Museum” sequel, in which you played Amelia Earhart. Why do you keep returning to the supporting roles? That’s not how it’s supposed to work.

A. I love being a supporting actress. I don’t need to be in the starring role. Besides, the supporting roles are usually the best-written roles. Some of my upcoming roles are supporting.

Q. How does the baby fit into your acting plans?

A. I don’t have to work again until summer so I’m OK.

Q. Are you getting married?

A. Honestly, I haven’t had time to plan a wedding. But it’ll happen.
