‘The Muppets’ Still Filming?

I’m not sure if they needed to reshoot some scenes or just weren’t quite done yet but apparently, Amy was spotted (and photographed) last night filming a scene from The Muppets in Hollywood. The photos are small and not very clear so I won’t be posting them to the gallery. You can view them at their source here.

‘The Muppets’ Going to Big Screen

In its inaugural year, this exciting film extravaganza, which hopes to become the Glastonbury of film, will be opened by Indiana Jones and James Bond and closed by Dr Who; or at least the actors who play them! Jon Favreau’s blending of science fiction and the old West Cowboys & Aliens will kick start the event with stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford to attend for the world premiere, while the remake of classic 80’s horror Fright Night 3D, starring Colin Farrell and David Tennant, has been picked as the movie to close the event.

And these are just a few of the stars to attend the 3 day event taking place on the weekend of the 12th of August at the O2, which is quickly becoming as synonymous with film as it is with music, having hosted last year’s Chronicles of Narnia and more recently the Justin Bieber Never Say Never documentary premieres.

And while stars Amy Adams and Jason Segel are not confirmed, Kermit, Piggy and all the Muppet stars of their latest outing due out this summer, have all signed on the dotted line and were quoted as being “very excited about visiting the O2 for the first time” to promote The Muppets!

According to a recent Variety article, it looks like we won’t be seeing Amy at this year’s SDCC after all.

Disney is holding off on tubthumping “The Avengers” “The Muppet” movie and its toons. The Mouse House wants to hold on to its goods until the company hosts its own Comic-Con-like event, D23 Expo, to be held August 19-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center. There Rich Ross will unveil the studio’s slate.

Here’s hoping that Disney will make a big Muppets presentation at this D23 Expo and Amy will be in attendance.

Collider Interview on Set of ‘The Muppets’

Amy fans are lucky today! Collider posted an audio interview they did with Amy while she was filming The Muppets. A links to the audio file can be found at the source or you can read the interview below.

I watched The Muppet Movie obsessively. I can still pretty much say a lot of the lines and do a pretty mean Fozzie Bear.

Did you enjoy sitting in that car for multiple takes?

Amy Adams: There have been more comfortable situations, but everybody is really nice. So that is good.

What can tell you us about your character? We know about Jason Segel and Walter’s connection. How do you fit into that story?

Adams: I am Mary, who is Gary’s somewhat neglected girlfriend due to his close relationship with Walter. So I am kind of along for the ride desperately trying to get him to be more romantic. Well, in a Disney way. You know?[laughs]

What does it mean for you to be a part of something that has this much linage?

Adams: It is awesome. I have been lucky to be a part of a lot of family films that have a great linage with Enchanted, Night at the Museum, and now to be a part of this. This is something I grew up with and was in love with. When I heard they were doing a new one I was really excited. Jason sent me a DVD where he and Kermit were inviting me to be part of The Muppets. It was really cool. Once Kermit asks you to do something it is really hard to look at him and say, “No.” So I was hooked.

Has it been an adjustment for you as an actor working with The Muppets? Do act with them as Muppets or with the puppeteers? How does that all work?

Adams: You know, it wasn’t. It’s amazing when you are doing a scene and you just so accept them as the other actor. I don’t know if it’s because I grew up with The Muppets. I don’t know. It’s actually great because a lot of the times when you are doing films that involve special effects you are acting with nothing. So in reality they are actually very giving scene partners for being inanimate objects.

‘The Muppets’ Set Visit

Categories: 'The Muppets', Articles & Reviews

Movieweb just posted an amazing article about the day they got to visit the set of The Muppets. Sadly, no photos of Amy were featured but there is a section where they talk to Amy. I’ve posted the first half of the article (the part which has the interview with Amy). The rest can be found at the source.

“I have to say that I can’t win in that answer because I am working with Miss Piggy. So if I say, Meryl Streep…I have to see Miss Piggy tomorrow and it will be like, so I heard…so I’m just going to plead the fifth. I know Meryl Streep will be ok, but I don’t want to cross Miss Piggy.”

Scheduled for release on November 23rd is The Muppets, a brand new movie featuring these classic characters, written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, the writer and director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, respectively. The music for the movie was written by Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie. And James Bobin, who co-created that popular HBO series, also directs the film.

The movie stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, and of course … Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Scooter, Rowlf, Swedish Chief, Beaker, Crazy Harry, Sam the Eagle, Animal, and Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. The Muppets, which is the beloved characters first theatrical release since ’1999s , promises to return Kermit the Frog and the entire gang to the forefront of popular culture once again … exactly where they belong.

Earlier this year we had the rare opportunity to be invited to the Los Angeles set of The Muppets to speak to the cast and crew about the new film. While on set, we had a chance to talk with Academy Award nominated actress Amy Adams, actor/writer Jason Segel, co-writer Nick Stoller, and director James Bobin. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to interview any of the actual Muppets, but we did get to see them shooting a scene for the movie.
