Amy at Cartier Dinner Party
Posted by Lisa on May 04, 2011 • Leave a message? / No Comments

A dinner was held at the Cartier Mansion in New York last night to celebrate MoMA’s annual Party in the Garden. Amy was in attendance and she looked elegant in a simple knee length, scoop neck LBD designed by L’Wren Scott. Black peep toes, black clutch, and black nails completed the look.

‘Wizard of Oz’ Prequel in Amy’s Future?
Posted by Lisa on May 04, 2011 • Leave a message? / 3 Comments

Several blogs around the web are reporting that Amy is on the shortlist to play one of the sisters in Disney’s upcoming Wizard of Oz prequel Oz, the Great and Powerful. Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis have already been cast as Theodora and Evanora respectively so if cast, Amy would likely play Glinda. This is all unsubstantiated rumors as far as I can tell but it’s still an interesting bit of news – especially if true. Amy would make a phenomenal Glinda (though I think one of the other two roles would have been a more intriguing choice). Some other actresses on this supposed short list are Keira Knightley, Kate Beckinsale, and Olivia Wilde.

Amy Gets Mtv Movie Award Nomination
Posted by Lisa on May 03, 2011 • Leave a message? / 1 Comment

Back in March, the long list of nominees for the 2011 Mtv Movie Awards was posted. Voting on that preliminary list ended yesterday and Amy has been officially nominated for Best Fight along with the sisters from The Fighter. Sadly, her other two potential nominations (Best Kiss and Best Female Performance) did not come to be. Be sure to click here to vote for Amy as she is up against some tough competition in this award.  Voting ends June 4th and the show will broadcast live on June 5th.

Costume Institute Gala – First Pics!
Posted by Lisa on May 02, 2011 • Leave a message? / 1 Comment

The “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Costume Institute Gala was held tonight in New York City and it looks like Amy was in attendance. She looks absolutely stunning in a L’Wren Scott mauve column gown with intricate black beaded accents. Only a few photos have surfaced so far and I’ve added what I’ve found to the gallery. More will be coming either later tonight or tomorrow.

Teri Hatcher Talks Amy Adams
Posted by Lisa on May 01, 2011 • Leave a message? / No Comments

Teri Hatcher, who played the role of Lois Lane in television’s Lois & Clark, recently talked to OTRC about Amy being cast as Lois in Man of Steel.

“She is a phenomenal actress, I mean really, right,” Hatcher said about Adams when asked about her opinion of Adams taking over the role of Lois Lane. “And [Adams] has such a large range. I think she’ll be amazing, I think she’ll be perfect.”

‘Man of Steel’ Plot Speculation
Posted by Lisa on May 01, 2011 • Leave a message? / No Comments

A bit spoliery but since it’s all speculation and educated guesses, who knows what will actually happen in the movie.

So, per the Hollywood trade press, Henry Cavill’s Superman will be bedeviled in the new big-screen adventure by Kryptonian bad-gal Faora (played by Pandorum’s Antje Traue)—unless that is, he’s not ’cause Faora and Traue aren’t locked in yet. (The all-knowing Warners Bros. hasn’t announced anything either way.)

While things are murky now, we know enough on the whole about the film’s cast and characters to make some educated Man of Steel guesses:

Alice Ward Dies at 79
Posted by Lisa on April 27, 2011 • Leave a message? / No Comments

While not exactly Amy related, I still felt it was relevant. My condolences go out to the Ward family and friends.

The mother and manager of retired boxing champion Micky Ward has died aged 79.

Alice Ward, who was played by Melissa Leo in the Oscar-winning film The Fighter, was taken off a life support machine at a Boston hospital while surrounded by her family.

Her son, Dicky Eklund, confirmed her death on Wednesday after she suffered a heart attack in January and described his mother as ‘the leader of our family’.
